Lateral Attorney

Job Description

The lateral attorney should have a J.D. degree and be licensed to practice law in the state where the firm is located. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of success and a demonstrated ability to grow and manage a practice. Prior experience at a law firm is required. Strong research, writing, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing legal representation to clients in a variety of practice areas
  • Managing and growing an existing book of business
  • Conducting legal research and analysis, and drafting and reviewing legal documents
  • Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in legal proceedings
  • Participating in business development and marketing efforts to grow the firm
  • Maintaining accurate client records and managing case files
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior attorneys and support staff
